Customization
The preferred way to customize Showcase is to use the Showcase options panel. To invoke it:
- Use the "Showcase Options..." menu option ("View" > "Showcase").
- Go to the "Add-ons" panel, select Firefox Showcase and then click on the "Options" button.
- Use the "Alt+O" shortcut while using Showcase.
Some options can only be enabled by using the about:config panel. These will be added to the main options dialog at a later point. Here's a detailed list of those options:
- "extensions.showcase.thumbnailBackButton": enables or disables the "back" navigation button when the mouse cursor is placed over a thumbnail.
- "extensions.showcase.thumbnailForwardButton": enables or disables the "forward" navigation button when the mouse cursor is placed over a thumbnail..

- "extensions.showcase.windowTabFlipping": enables or disables the integration with Tab Mix Plus and FLST "tab flipping" when in window mode.
- "extensions.showcase.tabTabFlipping": enables or disables the integration with Tab Mix Plus and FLST "tab flipping" when in tab mode.
- "extensions.showcase.sidebarTabFlipping": enables or disables the integration with Tab Mix Plus and FLST "tab flipping" when in sidebar mode.
- "extensions.showcase.sidebarFindBarMode": defines the find bar mode when using the sidebar: 0 to have it always active, 1 to disable it, or 2 to make it toggleable as in the other Showcase modes.
- "extensions.showcase.dragDropExclude": defines what parts of the thumbnail are excluded for the "drag & drop" feature. Set to 0 to enable "drag & drop" for all the thumbnail, 1 to exclude the close button, 2 to exclude the browser thumbnail image, or 3 to exclude both.
If you want to modify any cosmetic element from Showcase, the best way to do so is by modifying your "userChrome.css" file. Find more information about it here. To modify elements from Showcase tab mode, use the "userContent.css" file instead. This procedure is only recommended for advanced users.
The "userChrome.js" extension can be also useful to customize Showcase, specially when it comes to modify button labels. Again, this procedure is only recommended for advanced users.
